Continuing the Heritage & Reviving the Tradition
Conceived in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Carolina, Balsam Banjoworks was borne of the vision to provide you with the finest banjo hardware available anywhere, made right here in the USA, the birthplace of modern roots music.
We have spent countless hours developing relationships with a select number of small American metal fabricators, developing the proper forging and tooling methods to create premium-quality, affordable banjo hardware domestically. Why? In order to contribute to the resurgence of domestic manufacturing; to support the livelihood of American workers and artisans; to prove that this can be done at a competitive price-point. And because we believe there is something truly satisfying to everyone — from the musician, to the first-time builder, to the large-scale manufacturer, in knowing that your banjo is truly designed and crafted in the USA.
History
Our mission is to design, manufacture, and provide affordable, high-quality American made banjo hardware to small banjo builders and banjo restorers. In addition, we strive to supply builders with quality banjo and luthier accessories as well as excellent customer service, craftsmanship, and professionalism.
Established in 2014, Founder Patrick Heavner is also the owner of Pisgah Banjos. Inspired by the overwhelming demand for sustainable banjos, Patrick set out to solve the problem of sourcing banjo hardware that is all made in the USA at a competitive price. He feels strongly about bringing manufacturing back to the USA and supporting small mom and pop machine shops across the country. Currently, Balsam Banjoworks contracts with over a dozen of these small American machine shops and is constantly working on product development. If you are a small machine shop and would like to work with us, please contact us directly at sales@balsambanjoworks.com.
Warranty
We want you to be 100% satisfied with your Balsam Hardware purchase. Returns are accepted with no questions asked within 3 business days of receiving your order. We recommend inspecting your order immediately upon delivery. In addition, all Balsam banjo hardware comes with a 1-year limited warranty starting from the date of purchase. This does not include normal wear and tear, improper installation, or metal finishes. Accessories such as tuners, cases, strings, and heads may vary with warranty depending on the manufacturer and is not included in the Balsam Banjo Works warranty.
Pricing Structure
All customers can take advantage of the pricing structure listed on each product page. Only Balsam Builders receive the lowest discounted (wholesale) price regardless of quantity. We have this policy only to encourage builders to use 100% American made hardware on their banjos. We hope all small shop builders can become Balsam Builders.
In addition, customers are not limited to the price discount on one single item within a product category. For example, one can order 25 of each of the four options of banjo nuts and still receive the 100ct discount. This is the same with tension hoops, tuners, etc. Any combination of size, finish, or style doesn’t matter to receive the price breaks within the product category.
We strive to have the lowest price available on any product at all price breaks. If there is a lower price available on a similar item elsewhere, we will beat it by 15%.
